How It Works

Four simple steps from registration to finding a compatible swap partner.

01

Create Your Account

Connect your Solana wallet and choose your role — patient, donor, or donor-patient pair. Set up your basic profile and privacy preferences.

02

Complete Your Profile

Add your medical information (blood type, location) and a brief bio. Control exactly what other users can see with privacy toggles.

03

Find Potential Matches

Browse compatible matches sorted by our compatibility scoring algorithm. Filter by blood type, location, role, and minimum compatibility.

04

Connect & Coordinate

Request contact with a match through our consent flow. Once both parties agree, communicate securely through the platform's messaging system.

Understanding Kidney Exchange

What is Paired Donation?

When a patient has a willing donor who isn't compatible, paired donation matches them with another pair in the same situation so both patients receive compatible kidneys.

Why Incompatibility?

Blood type or antibody mismatches can prevent direct donation. Paired exchange overcomes this by finding complementary pairs where cross-matching works.

How Swaps Work

In a two-way swap, Donor A gives to Patient B while Donor B gives to Patient A. Chains can involve three or more pairs for complex matching.

What Happens After Finding a Match?

  1. 1. Both parties consent to sharing detailed medical information on-chain.
  2. 2. Each person contacts their transplant center to begin the medical evaluation process.
  3. 3. Transplant centers perform cross-match testing and medical evaluations.
  4. 4. If medically cleared, the transplant centers coordinate the simultaneous surgeries.
  5. 5. The swap is recorded on-chain as a permanent, verifiable record.
